Off the wall psych-jazz band Doom Gong plays Tampa brewery concert in November — Palm Harbor Dining news

Doom Gong Credit: Doom Gong / EPK Over the last two months, Doom Gong has been on the road playing its weird AF brand of proggy-experimental psych-jazz. On albums like last year’s Megagong (stylized all-caps), the band weaves together Mellotron, more synth, horns and traditional keys with percussion of all stripes and vocals that are less lyrical and more like yet another instrument in the arsenal. Traveling as a septet, the Kentucky band is at the end of the road and supported in Tampa by homegrown jazz outfit Chaunces (led by oddball genius drummer Chance Reynolds). Tickets to see Doom Gong and Chaunces at Magnanimous Brewing in Tampa on Thursday, Nov. 5 are still available and start at $23.
